Missing Books

Calling all parents to look under beds, in closets, behind doors etc. for any books that belong to the school or to me.  We are very fortunate at Yennadon that we are allowed to send 'Reading Books' home as some schools do not allow it at all due to lost books.  Lets make sure we bring in all school books.  If it has my name on it, it is my personal book I have bought with my own money so students can bring books home daily!

Here are some specific books that our class has not brought back... and they are brand new too!  No other class has had them...

I have "above and beyonds" for any school or my books brought back to school!!!

So Thoughtful!!!

Thank you so much Kelly!  When you asked to fix my 25 year old binder of things I had collected about Rick Hansen... I had no idea you were so creative!  Thank you for doing such a thoughtful thing.  I've really enjoyed looking through it and so does the class.  My new favourite photo is...

Wow I can not believe all my old clippings and pictures could look so good!!

Button Blankets!

Yes, I gave grade ones needle and thread!  This is truly being 'open to the possibilities'! Thank you to Kathleen from Ab Ed and all the parents who came in to help us thread needles.  We were so amazed at how hard all the kids worked on sewing them all by themselves.  They showed true pride in their work.

Congratulations Peter!

Wow look at the medal Peter got as he was one of the barriers for Rick Hansen's 25th Anniversary Relay.  Thank you for representing our community so proudly!

 Great  Job Peter!

Dream Catchers

Thank you Mrs. Johnston (Josh's Mom) for supplying and coming in to help us make Dream Catchers. Learning about the Sinnu (string) and using it was interesting and challenging!  They were all so excited to take them home...

Carmen you are AMAZING!!!

Thank you so much Carmen McClelland!  Not only did you give me a cart to take to the park when the one I had was such a disaster, but you hand made a waterproof cover with a top flap and pockets!  I so appreciate the thoughtfulness and how difficult it was to make it!  I will be able to use this for years to come.  I also want to thank you for coming to the park every week with us.  It makes it easier to know I have other adults guaranteed to come!

Look at the fantastic job you did... Mr. Bondi couldn't believe you didn't even have a pattern...  All the teachers are so impressed!!!  Thank you so much!  It is so wonderful of you to do this for our class!

We even have a padded handle :)

Chicks Last Day And Farm Visit

For the chicks last day we took them outside on the grass to play...

Nap time! Too cute!!

First time on the grass...

They are only a week old today and look at their wing feathers already.  Soon they can fly...

Then it was then off to bring them off to the farm:  It is always such an adventure at the Brookfield farm with Farmer Matt (7th generation Laity Farmer) and Farmer Deanna.

Farmer Matt's newest addition was coming home with a Donkey... Farmer Deanna says most people come home with some extra goodies from the store... not a donkey!

Two Week Old Baby Rat... His eyes are still closed...

Their daughter's 4H Calf she shows...

Cows only have bottom teeth...

One of their show sheep... and Farmer Deanna weaves their wool...

The Donkey Farmer Matt came home with...

Looking at their lovely teeth... BRUSH YOUR TEETH KIDS!!!

One of their milking cows...

Here is where the milk goes twice a day and every two days a truck comes to pick it up...

They only get 17 cents per liter... a lot of work to make a living on the farm!

Feeding the cows grain!

Hay Ride!

Look we see Emma!!! They all call out...

The Yellow Barn is where our chicks went back too...
